Basketball Game

The appearance of olympic basketball game  at the Olympic Games in 1904 in St. Louis as a demonstration sport, competition between the only American teams took place and 72 olympics basketball was considered the event of the Amateur Athletic Union United States) championships.

In the Games in 1936 in Berlin, Basketball located joined the Olympic program, where it remained until today. Women's Basketball debuted at the 1976 Games in Montreal.

The United States dominated international basketball and fun facts about sports and won all titles until 1972, the year when it was beaten by the Soviet Union at the Munich Games. In the case of women the olympic basketball game  Soviets took in 1976, 1980 and 1992 and gold were then dominated by the Americans 1984-2008 except 1992.

In 1992 the Barcelona Games, the known player in the United States of the National Basketball Association were represented for the first time (NBA). This team, known as "Dream Team" in the international media, the best basketball team has ever been formed certainly at basketball olympic games. He delighted the public and dominated the Olympic tournament in 1992 largely.

Life of Women in Basketball

The first women's tournament was 1976. The Soviet Union won against five other teams. The next two tournaments followed the round robin of six men, with the Soviets in 1980 defending their title and the 1984 USA won against the South Koreans under the Soviet boycott. In 1988, the tournament expanded to eight teams, with the Americans beat Yugoslavia in the basketball medal of gold medal game. 

In 1992, after the demise of the USSR, the unified team won against China in the gold medal basketball game. 1996 started the tournament in its current 12-team format; The United States have won all the tournaments since winning 40 consecutive games.
